GCC Tech Stack on Zoho

Straits Partners sets up the complete business software stack for a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India on Zoho: Workplace, CRM, Books, Desk, Projects, People, Payroll and Analytics, with Zia for MIS. You deal with two vendors as far as technology is concerned: Zoho for the software and Straits Partners to design, implement, integrate and support it, so the centre can start lean and scale economically.

Two vendors, one operating system

Most new centres in India collect software one function at a time: a mail provider, an accounting package, an HR tool, a payroll bureau, a ticketing tool and spreadsheets to tie it together for the parent. Each choice is reasonable on its own. Together they create contracts to renew, integrations to maintain and month-end reports stitched by hand.

We take the other route. Zoho supplies the business software as one platform, and Straits Partners designs, implements and runs it. You get one sign-in for staff, one place for data and one partner accountable for making it work.

Who it suits

  • Companies setting up their first GCC in India and wanting it running from the first hire
  • Existing centres that have outgrown spreadsheets and a patchwork of tools
  • Parent finance teams that need consistent MIS from the Indian entity

How it works

  1. Scope the centre

We map what the GCC will do for the parent, the first teams and headcount plan, the reports the parent expects and any systems the centre must connect to.

  2. Design the stack

We choose the Zoho apps for day one and for later, the data that flows between them, user roles and the MIS the parent will see. You sign off the design before we build.

  3. Launch the essentials

We set up Zoho Workplace, Books, People and Payroll first, so email, accounts, HR records and statutory payroll work from the first hire.

  4. Add delivery and service

We add Zoho Projects, Desk and CRM to run work for the parent, internal service requests and stakeholder relationships, reusing the same users and data.

  5. Report and scale

We build MIS in Zoho Analytics with Zia, connect it to the apps above, train your teams and stay on as the support partner as the centre grows.

What you receive

  • A stack design covering apps, data flows, roles and MIS, signed off by you
  • Configured Zoho apps for the agreed phase, with data migrated and reconciled
  • Integration with the parent's systems where agreed
  • MIS dashboards in Zoho Analytics with Zia set up for plain-language questions
  • Role-based training and a support plan for the next phase

Frequently asked questions

What is a GCC?

A Global Capability Centre is a unit that a company sets up in another country, often India, to run functions such as technology, finance, operations or analytics for the parent group.

Which Zoho apps make up the starter GCC stack?

Zoho Workplace for mail and collaboration, Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Zoho Desk, Zoho Projects, Zoho People, Zoho Payroll and Zoho Analytics, with Zia for MIS. We adjust the list to what your centre actually does.

Do we really need only two vendors?

For business software, yes. Zoho supplies the apps and Straits Partners designs, implements, integrates and supports them. Laptops, connectivity, office infrastructure and your engineering toolchain are separate purchases.

Does Zoho Payroll handle Indian statutory compliance?

Zoho states that Zoho Payroll covers PF, ESI, LWF, PT and income tax across Indian states, with statutory reports and tax forms. We configure it for your entity and test it before the first payroll run.

Can the stack connect to our parent company's systems?

Usually, yes. We connect through Zoho's APIs and integration tools and agree the scope during design. Zoho states that Zoho Payroll supports custom integrations with systems such as Workday, SAP and Oracle.

How is it priced?

In three parts, as with all our work: Zoho licences billed by Zoho, our implementation, and annual maintenance. Taxes are extra. We share figures after a scoping call.
